Summer Camp

Summer Camp

For children ages 6-11
For FarmLeaders Camp for youth ages 12-14, please click here.

Explore, run, draw and create in our beautiful Children’s Learning Garden; observe beehives and in-season crops on “field trips” around the farm. The theme of each of our one-week camps will be learned through a variety of exciting recreational activities, crafts and hands-on experiences. All camps will include forest adventures, planting, eco-crafts, popsicle making, and (of course) a chance to harvest, cook and eat fresh garden produce!

The fee for our summer camp is $265 for the full week, with the exception of 4-day camps which are $208.

Before you attempt to register, please:

  1. Read through our FarmWonders Policies
  2. Ensure you have your child’s BC Care Card # on-hand

  • Week 1: June 24-28 (VSB schools still in session)
  • Week 2: July 2-5 *4-day camp

Come join us as we explore the Farm, forest, and Children’s learning garden! Engage your senses: tasting from the garden, listening for farm friends, and watching for pollinators. Use a compass on a journey, a trowel in the garden, and your imagination as we share stories. Plant and cook-up an exciting week as the Farm begins to come alive!

  • Week 3: July 8-12
  • Week 6: July 29 – August 2

Visit the fields on our farm to see what’s growing. Dig deep into the soils that grow food in the Children’s Garden. If a farmer takes care of their fields, their fields will take care of them. Learn about the difference between organic and non-organic farming. Observe stages in the life cycle of plants and how forests and farms work together to create a healthy ecosystem.

  • Week 4: July 15-19
  • Week 7: August 6-9 *4-day camp

Give the trees a chance to amaze you with their abilities. Investigate our eco-forest, build a tree fort, make forest costumes and find out how the forest helps us breathe! Learn about wildcrafting through harvesting wild berries and identifying a few of the medicines in our forest plants. We are on the Pacific Flyway for birds, so we will keep our eyes on the skies to see if there are any feathery residents.

  • Week 5: July 22-26
  • Week 8: August 12-16

Chickens, bees and what’s under our knees. Worms, birds, insects and frogs are all friends of the farm. See how they work together in the farm community to grow and protect the plants you eat. Learn how to catch, identify and release some of these tiny neighbours. We’ll do lots of exploring of the smaller worlds that are so close up for kids.

  • Week 9: August 19-23
  • Week 10: August 26-30

If you are looking to savour the last few weeks of summer come out to one of these FarmTastic Weeks! What Farm fun could we be having? Planting, building, and learning creative ways to preserve our harvest for the coming months are just a few of the activities we have planned. What better way to end the summer than exploring our amazing Children’s garden and the wide-open spaces of the UBC Farm.
